The main deity is rendered in a graceful, slightly contrapposto pose, characteristic of classical South Indian iconography. He is adorned with an elaborate tall conical crown (kirita-makuta), multiple necklaces, armlets, wristlets, and anklets, along with a prominent sacred thread (yajnopavita) draped across his torso, and a finely draped dhoti extending to his ankles. In his upper right hand, he firmly holds the Sudarshana Chakra (discus), while his upper left hand grasps the Shankha (conch shell). His lower right hand is extended downwards in Abhaya Mudra, a gesture of reassurance or fearlessness, and his lower left hand holds the Gada (mace). The deity’s serene face features almond-shaped eyes, a gentle smile, and well-defined features, conveying a tranquil and benevolent expression. The surrounding archway is a masterful work of relief carving, showcasing graceful makara (mythical sea creatures) at its base, from which elaborate scrolling foliage and architectural elements ascend to an apex adorned with a prominent kirtimukha (glorious face) or a grand floral motif. Along the vertical sides of the arch, small niches contain miniature carved figures, possibly depicting sages, lesser deities, or devotees in various postures of worship, adding to the narrative complexity. Two smaller, standing figures, also exquisitely carved and adorned, flank the main deity on the pedestal, acting as divine attendants or perhaps personifications of his consorts, Lakshmi and Bhudevi.
