  • Sale! meticulously carved, dark gray or black stone sculpture depicts the revered Hindu deity Narasimha, the fearsome half-lion, half-human avatar of Lord Vishnu, seated majestically alongside his divine consort, Lakshmi. The larger figure of Narasimha dominates the left, showcasing a powerful, open-mouthed lion's face with a prominent snout and intense eyes, set atop a robust human body. He is richly adorned with an elaborate, multi-tiered crown, intricate necklaces, armbands, and a beautifully draped dhoti featuring highly detailed traditional patterns and folds. His upper right hand (from the viewer's perspective) firmly grasps a formidable gada, or mace, symbolizing strength and protection. Behind and above both deities, a magnificent, seven-headed cobra (Naga or Adishesha) rises, its individual hoods flared outwards to form a grand, protective canopy over them, its scales finely rendered. To Narasimha's right, the smaller, graceful figure of Lakshmi is seated, embodying elegance. She too wears a delicate crown, ornate jewelry including earrings, necklaces, and anklets, and a finely patterned garment. Her right hand is raised in a benevolent gesture, possibly indicating blessing or reassurance. The entire religious idol is masterfully sculpted from a dark stone, highlighting the intricate details of the deities' expressions, the textures of their ornaments, the elaborate textile patterns, and the serpentine coils that form the base and support structure. This handcrafted stone sculpture serves as a powerful representation of Hindu mythology and traditional Indian iconography, suitable for worship or as a decorative piece celebrating ancient artistry.
