  • Sale! magnificent, intricately carved white marble sculpture depicts Lord Krishna playing his bansuri (flute). The central figure of Krishna stands gracefully in the characteristic Tribhanga pose, with one leg crossed in front of the other, his body slightly bent, conveying a sense of divine movement and melody. His youthful face looks serene and forward, adorned with a delicate tilak on his forehead, almond-shaped eyes, and a majestic crown embellished with peacock feather motifs and other traditional patterns. Krishna is richly adorned with finely sculpted jewelry, including multiple necklaces, armbands, wristbands, and anklets. His lower body is draped in flowing garments, possibly a dhoti, secured by an elaborate waist belt featuring intricate garlands and beaded patterns. Both hands are raised, holding a long, detailed flute horizontally to his lips, suggesting the enchanting music for which he is renowned. The sculpture is a high-relief carving, with elements emerging significantly from the background slab. Flanking Krishna are various sacred symbols and creatures integral to his mythology. To his left, the head of a docile cow or calf emerges from behind, looking upwards towards the deity. On his right, another stylized animal figure, possibly a cow or deer, is partially visible. Above Krishna's head, an ornate Kirtimukha-like face, a traditional auspicious motif in Hindu temple architecture, serves as a backdrop, flanked by swirling, stylized peacock feathers or mythical bird figures that create an ethereal halo-like effect, adding to the deity's divine aura. The entire composition rests on a multi-tiered, circular base. The lower tier features a continuous, finely carved frieze depicting a procession of small cows and calves, emphasizing Krishna's role as Govinda, the protector of cows. The pristine white marble highlights the exquisite craftsmanship and the minute details of the carving, from the texture of Krishna's garments to the individual elements of his jewelry and the animals surrounding him. The sculpture is displayed against a plain dark gray background, which makes its intricate forms and pure white surface stand out prominently. A watermark for "The Stone Studio" is visible on the lower right, indicating the origin of this devotional and artistic piece of traditional Indian stone carving.
