  • Sale! large, intricately carved stone sculpture depicts the revered Hindu divine family, known as the Shiva Parivar, seated on an elaborate throne. The artwork is rendered in a warm, light tan or sandalwood-colored stone, possibly sandstone or a similar natural material, highlighting its exquisite craftsmanship and traditional Indian aesthetic. From left to right, the central figure of Lord Shiva is depicted with a serene expression, his characteristic matted hair (jatamukuta) adorned with a crescent moon and a miniature figure of Ganga, and a coiled cobra resting on his left shoulder. He holds his iconic trident (trishula) in his raised upper left hand, while his lower right hand is raised in the Abhaya Mudra, a gesture of reassurance and blessing. Seated gracefully on Shiva's left thigh is Lord Kartikeya (also known as Skanda or Murugan), a youthful figure adorned with jewelry. He holds a long staff or vel in his left hand and also offers the Abhaya Mudra with his right hand. To Shiva's right, his consort, Goddess Parvati, is depicted with an elegant posture, wearing an ornate crown (kirita-mukuta) and beautiful, flowing garments. Her right hand is similarly raised in the Abhaya Mudra, symbolizing protection and peace. Nestled on Parvati's right thigh is their beloved son, Lord Ganesha, instantly recognizable by his elephant head with a gracefully curled trunk, a prominent pot belly, and holding a modak (sweet) in one hand. His right hand also extends in a gesture of blessing. The shared pedestal or throne on which the deities are seated is highly decorative, featuring intricate carvings including sun-like archways behind the heads of Shiva and Parvati, detailed scrollwork, floral motifs, and traditional Hindu iconography along the multi-tiered base, possibly including makara (mythical sea creatures) or lion faces. The overall composition conveys a sense of divine harmony, familial love, and spiritual grace, making it an ideal representation of sacred art for a temple, spiritual space, or home decor. The sculpture is presented against a plain, light grey background, which emphasizes the fine details and the natural beauty of the stone. A discreet watermark "the Stone Studio" is visible in the lower right, indicating the artisan or vendor.
