  • Sale! magnificent, intricately carved reddish-brown natural stone sculpture depicting the Hindu divine couple Radha and Krishna, standing gracefully beneath a stylized tree canopy. The central figure on the left is Lord Krishna, rendered in a classic Tribhanga (three-bend) pose, standing cross-legged with his right leg crossed over his left. He is holding and playing his bansuri (flute), which is held horizontally to his lips. Krishna is adorned with an elaborate, towering crown, long necklaces, armlets, bracelets, and a richly patterned dhoti, all carved with exceptional detail. His expression is serene and gentle. Behind and slightly to his left, the head and body of a small cow or calf are visible, a common motif associated with Krishna as a cowherd. To Krishna's right stands his beloved consort Radha, elegantly posed with a slight sway. She gazes towards Krishna, her left hand delicately holding a traditional kalash (water pot) adorned with intricate carvings, resting on her hip. Radha is also richly adorned with an ornate headdress, necklaces, earrings, bangles, and a flowing, meticulously draped sari that highlights her form. The facial features of both deities are finely sculpted, conveying a sense of peace and spiritual connection. Above them, a dense and beautifully carved tree canopy, possibly a Kadamba tree, forms an arch, signifying a natural setting often associated with Krishna's tales in Vrindavan. The entire sculpture is unified by the reddish-brown hue of the stone, which exhibits subtle variations in color and texture, adding depth to the piece. It rests on a sturdy, multi-tiered circular pedestal adorned with finely carved lotus petals and other decorative motifs, providing a stable and aesthetic base.
