The next hand is raised in Abhaya mudra, a gesture of fearlessness, blessing, and protection. The lowest right hand rests on his lap, holding a mala (rosary beads) for meditation. On the viewer's right (Ganesha's left): the topmost hand holds an ankusha (elephant goad), symbolizing control over desires and the path to righteousness. Below it, Ganesha holds his broken tusk (Eka Danta), a significant iconographic feature often associated with his role as a scribe.
