The overall shape is a majestic, temple-like arch, highly ornate and detailed. At the center, the most prominent figure is a serene Siddhartha Gautama Buddha, seated in the classic Padmasana (lotus position) on a beautifully carved lotus pedestal (Vishvapadma). His hands are raised in the Dharmachakra Mudra, symbolizing the teaching of the Dharma or "turning the wheel of law," with the thumbs and index fingers forming circles, and the right hand's palm facing outward while the left hand's palm faces inward, touching the right hand's fingers. He exhibits traditional attributes like the Usnisha (cranial bump) and Urna (dot between eyebrows), conveying deep wisdom and compassion. Behind the central Buddha is an elaborately carved halo or mandorla, featuring intricate scrollwork, foliage patterns, and mythical creature motifs that lend a sense of divine grandeur. The central Buddha is flanked on either side by vertical, multi-tiered architectural structures resembling miniature temple spires or stupas. Each of these structures contains three smaller meditating Buddha figures, each seated in its own niche or platform, mirroring the posture of the central Buddha. These six flanking Buddhas are arranged hierarchically, diminishing slightly in size from bottom to top, and are separated by decorative cornices and miniature pillars. At the very top of the arch, directly above the central figure, another smaller, single seated Buddha statue is enthroned, emphasizing the spiritual hierarchy and completion of the sacred tableau. The base of the entire sculpture features a horizontal frieze, where a row of even smaller Buddha figures are seated within individual arched compartments, separated by miniature columns, forming a continuous narrative or a representation of many enlightened beings. The entire stone carving showcases exquisite craftsmanship with a remarkable level of detail in every element, from the folds of the Buddhas' robes to the delicate floral and geometric patterns adorning the architectural framework. The earthy, monochromatic tone of the stone accentuates the rich textures and three-dimensional qualities of this religious artwork, making it appear both ancient and deeply spiritual.
